Role Overview

PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding customer service, cares for store pets, and maintains a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, sales opportunities, and flexibility in a dynamic retail setting focused on pet parent satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
• Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
• Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock and recover merchandise to sales floor standards.
• Recommend and sell products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Maintain safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Depth perception and animal handling comfort essential.
