Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility across sales floor, pet care, and services in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Uphold cleanliness, recover merchandise, stage products, face shelves, and support pricing/promotions.
- Sell products/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets with vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team-lifting for 100+ lbs needed.
