Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Grande Prairie store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide outstanding service: greet customers, answer questions, process online pickups, and recommend products/services/pets.
- Pet care: feed/water/clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, small animals; administer vet-directed meds; respond to sick pets.
- Store operations: maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes/promotions, promote events.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; assist in services areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Bring strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs+, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Ladder climbing, team lifting, and exposure to pet hair/mechanical parts common. Reasonable accommodations available.
