Role Overview

As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate in Guelph, Ontario, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising while upholding PetSmart's vision for pet happiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
• Execute store maintenance: cleanliness, product stocking, facing, recovery, price changes, and merchandising per sales floor plans.
• Drive sales by recommending products, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise, pet hair, and live animals essential.
