Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Houston, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver outstanding service, maintain store standards, and care for live animals. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and rewards in a fun pet-loving environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; greet, answer questions, prepare pickups.
- Provide hands-on pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds; respond to sick pets.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness, and company policies; assist across store including services.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50+ lbs, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment. Depth perception and team lifting essential.
