Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Houston, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and maintain store operations. Share responsibility for pet care, cleanliness, and safety while promoting products and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet enthusiasts. Required: strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
