Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Houston, Texas, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and rewards for animal lovers ready to thrive in a fast-paced retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats—including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, recover floors, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
- Support all store areas, uphold policies, and contribute to a positive team culture.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
