Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role in our vibrant Idaho Falls store involves customer engagement, merchandising, and ensuring pet safety in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising tasks: price changes, product staging, facing/filling shelves, and recovery to sales floor standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness; respond to sick/injured pets with immediate vet transport if needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina for standing, lifting 50+ lbs, ladder use, and animal handling in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team-lifting for 100+ lbs needed.
