Role Overview
The full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering outstanding customer service, ensuring pet safety, and maintaining a clean, inviting space. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet care experience and sales opportunities in a dynamic retail setting with live animals and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through personalized in-store, phone, online, and pickup interactions.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety standards, respond to pet health issues, and support all store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced environments, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing), and work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays. Comfort with live animals and composure under pressure are essential.
