Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Lexington Park, Maryland, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store sparkling. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways to advance within our supportive team.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide expert care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new inventory, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
- Support all store areas, uphold cleanliness, and follow company policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
