Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and merchandising in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online pickups.
- Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats – feeding, cleaning, medicating as directed.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond to pet health emergencies.
- Recommend products, services, and live pets to drive sales.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50lbs+, standing, ladder work). Thrive in moderate-noise, pet-filled settings with occasional wet/hairy conditions.
