Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our London, Ontario store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and ensure pet safety and store standards. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet care, sales, and merchandising in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including online order fulfillment.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock products per sales floor plans, and recover merchandise.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is a plus! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, offer scheduling flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), and meet physical demands: standing, lifting 50+ lbs, climbing ladders, handling animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and composure are essential.
