PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role in Manassas involves customer engagement, merchandising, pet health, and safety in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Promote events like adoptions, Treats enrollment, charity drives; recommend products/services/pets.
- Maintain cleanliness/safety; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed; assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team spirit essential.
