Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Manteca store, you'll deliver exceptional pet parent experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store sparkling. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and paths to leadership in a fun, pet-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide expert care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new arrivals, handle price changes, and ensure safety.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Respond to pet health issues, transport to vets if needed, and support all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Bring strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, ladder work). Thrive in a lively setting with animals, moderate noise, and pet hair.
