Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Markham store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, development, and the joy of working with pets daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and handle sick/injured pets promptly.
- Recommend products, services, and pets while supporting all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced settings, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-filled environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
