Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in McHenry, IL, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across store areas, including services, while upholding our vision for pet safety and customer joy.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock and recover merchandise to sales floor standards.
- Sell products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety, respond to sick/injured pets, assist across departments as needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level welcome! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk/lift 50lbs (team lift 100lbs+), handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments. Ladder use, depth perception required.
