Role Overview

PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role involves customer engagement, merchandising, pet health, and safety in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and sales recommendations.
• Manage pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
• Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor to standards.
• Promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment; ensure safe environment and respond to pet health issues.
• Assist across departments including services as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and team-lifting for 100+ lbs required.
