Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Mesa, Arizona, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, impact, and rewards for animal enthusiasts.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Drive sales by recommending products, services, live pets, and promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain store standards: cleanliness, merchandising, facing/filling products, price changes.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required. We seek pet lovers with strong communication, flexibility for evenings/weekends/holidays, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal handling in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
