Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Miami, Florida store, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and drive sales while upholding PetSmart's vision. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and store operations in a fun, pet-filled atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver exceptional pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, and support price changes/promotions.
- Recommend merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
