Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, manage store pets' health and habitats, uphold cleanliness, and drive sales through expert recommendations. This entry-level role suits animal lovers ready for dynamic retail with physical demands in a pet-filled environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide in-person, phone, register, and online customer service; greet and assist pet parents.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to illnesses.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, prepare online orders, and maintain sales floor standards.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; assist across store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs, climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions). Depth perception and team spirit essential.
