Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Miramichi store, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision for pet care. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across store areas, including services, with duties varying by store needs.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in a moderate-noise environment with pet hair and occasional wet conditions. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent experience in-person, phone, register, and online; greet and answer questions.
- Prepare online orders for seamless pickup.
- Provide pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, crickets); administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage new merchandise, support pricing/promotions.
- Recommend/sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; handle sick pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Ideal for animal lovers ready for physical work and dynamic retail.
