Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Missoula, Montana, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional experiences, and uphold pet safety standards. Share store maintenance duties while directly caring for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and more. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on pet care: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats, and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover sales floor.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Required: strong communication, schedule flexibility, composure under pressure. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and animal exposure in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
