Role Overview
The Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) is the heart of our store, delivering exceptional experiences for pet parents and ensuring top-notch care for store pets. This full-time role combines customer service, pet handling, and store operations in a dynamic environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats – including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: facing products, recovering stock, price changes, and sales floor planning.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety standards, store cleanliness, and take action on sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – we train you! Ideal candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking extensively). Passion for pets, teamwork, and retail enthusiasm are key. Must thrive in a fast-paced setting with live animals and moderate noise.
