Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, upholds store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including online order prep.
- Maintain pet health by feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock products per floor plans, and recover merchandise.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal handling in moderate noise/wet environments). Depth perception and team spirit essential.
