Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Nashville, Tennessee, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver outstanding customer experiences, and maintain store standards. This entry-level role involves pet care, sales, merchandising, and ensuring a safe, clean environment for all.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks like stocking, facing products, price changes, and sales floor recovery.
- Recommend merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain cleanliness, pet safety, and take action on sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Depth perception and team-lifting for heavier items needed.
