Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Oceanside, CA, you'll engage pet parents and care for store pets, ensuring positive experiences while upholding our vision for pet safety and store excellence. This entry-level role offers flexibility and impact in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent service in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets with immediate vet transport if needed.

Required Qualifications
- Strong communication skills.
- Schedule flexibility for evenings, weekends, holidays.
- Composure under pressure.
Physical Demands
Stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs frequently (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair exposure. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
