Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate), you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays, with physical demands including lifting up to 50 lbs and handling live animals in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions, including seamless online order pickups.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
- Uphold store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise per sales floor plans, and recover products.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, with schedule flexibility. Physical abilities include standing, walking, climbing, stooping, and lifting 50+ lbs amid pet hair, noise, and mechanical parts. Depth perception and composure in wet, animal-filled settings are essential.
