Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Okotoks store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for store pets and maintaining a clean, safe environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, development, and the joy of working with animals daily.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats—including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, recover floors, and support price changes/promotions.
- Promote services, live pets, events like adoption weekends, and loyalty programs like Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets and transport as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive in fast-paced retail, handle pressure calmly, and are available evenings/weekends/holidays. Physical demands include lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, and exposure to pets, noise, and wet areas. Reasonable accommodations available.
