Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associates drive the pet parent experience, ensure store cleanliness, and provide direct care for live pets. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer engagement, and merchandising in a dynamic retail environment. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding service in-person, online, phone, and at register; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain sales floor standards: face/fill products, stage merchandise, support pricing updates.
- Sell products/services/pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required – pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and handle live animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled environment. Physical demands include standing, stooping, and team-lifting over 100 lbs.
