Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Ottawa, Ontario store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet interaction, and pathways for career advancement in pet retail.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
• Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and vet-directed medications.
• Execute merchandising tasks: stock products, face shelves, recover floors, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions.
• Maintain cleanliness, safety standards, and respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while assisting across all store areas.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who thrive under pressure, offer scheduling flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items required.
