Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate in Ottawa, Ontario, you'll be the friendly face for pet parents, delivering outstanding service while caring for live pets and maintaining a welcoming store. This entry-level role offers flexibility, hands-on pet experience, and clear career paths in pet retail.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety and cleanliness; respond immediately to pet health issues, including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), stand/walk extensively, and handle live animals in a dynamic environment.
