Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Ottawa, Ontario store, you'll deliver outstanding customer experiences, care for live pets, and keep our store running smoothly. This entry-level role is perfect for animal lovers who thrive in dynamic retail settings, with flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain merchandising standards: face/fill products, stage new inventory, handle price changes, and ensure cleanliness.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets including vet transport.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, handle physical demands (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, animal exposure), and embrace teamwork. Qualifications include schedule flexibility and enthusiasm for pet healthcare and retail excellence.
