Role Overview

PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Pasadena, Texas, delivers outstanding pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for live pets. This entry-level role offers flexibility across sales floor, services, and pet care, with opportunities to advance in a dynamic retail environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order fulfillment, and register support.
• Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed medications.
• Uphold store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise per sales floor plans, and recover products.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety: monitor pets for illness/injury, transport to vet if needed, and maintain a hazard-free environment.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication skills, schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and handle animals in a moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled setting. Depth perception and reasonable accommodations available.
