Role Overview
The full-time Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) role involves engaging pet parents, delivering outstanding service, maintaining store standards, and providing direct pet care. This entry-level position offers flexibility across evenings, weekends, and holidays, with opportunities to work in services and events.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Promote merchandise, services, live pets, adoption events, Treats enrollment, and charity drives.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and respond to pet health emergencies by transporting to vets as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lifting 50+ lbs, standing, climbing, handling animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environments). Passion for pets and flexibility are key.
