Role Overview

As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Penticton, British Columbia, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences, care for live animals, and maintain a clean, safe store environment. This entry-level role suits animal lovers with flexible schedules, offering dynamic duties across sales, pet care, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
• Provide hands-on care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
• Execute merchandising tasks: face/fill products, stage new inventory, handle price changes, and recover sales floor.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets, including vet transport.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-heavy environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/wet conditions essential.
