Role Overview
As a Full-Time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in our Peterborough store, you'll deliver outstanding pet parent experiences while caring for live animals and maintaining a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers flexibility, development, and the joy of working with pets.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to pet parents in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (fish, birds, reptiles, small animals), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock shelves, and recover merchandise to standards.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond immediately to sick/injured pets.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! You need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs, climb ladders, and handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise and pet hair.
