Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Phoenix, Arizona, you'll engage pet parents, care for live animals, and maintain an exceptional store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction, customer service, and retail operations in a fun, pet-loving atmosphere.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feeding, watering, cleaning habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administering vet-directed medications.
- Maintain store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock merchandise, and recover sales floor.
- Recommend products, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; handle sick/injured pets and transport to vet as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators with schedule flexibility (evenings, weekends, holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/pet hair essential.
