Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Plainville, CT, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver outstanding service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across sales floor, services, and pet habitats in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions including order pickups.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes/promotions.
- Promote sales, services, events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Uphold safety, cleanliness; respond to sick pets and ensure secure environment.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physically demanding: lift 50lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk, handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions with pet hair exposure. Depth perception essential; accommodations available.
