Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers outstanding pet parent experiences while maintaining store operations, pet care, and safety standards. Based in Ponce, Puerto Rico, this entry-level role offers flexibility and impact in a dynamic retail environment with live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and sales at register.
- Provide direct care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish, small animals), and administer vet-directed meds.
- Execute merchandising: face/fill products, stage new items, handle price changes, and maintain cleanliness.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety: monitor pets, transport sick/injured to vet, and support all store areas as needed.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—training provided. Ideal candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs+, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate noise/wet conditions). Depth perception and teamwork essential.
