Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role in our Prosper location offers flexibility, impact, and a fun, pet-filled workplace.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
- Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and crickets; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store excellence by facing/filling products, staging merchandise, weekly price changes, and total cleanliness.
- Sell products, services, and live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Prioritize safety: monitor pets, transport sick/injured to vet, and maintain secure environments.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina (lift 50lbs+, stand/walk extensively, handle animals in moderate-noise/wet conditions). Ladder climbing and team lifts for 100lbs+ common.
