Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Rapid City, South Dakota, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. This entry-level role offers flexibility across store areas, including services, with a focus on safety, cleanliness, and sales.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction via in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; prepare pickup orders seamlessly.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Stock shelves, face products, recover floors, handle price changes, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure store safety, respond to sick/injured pets by transporting to vet, and maintain cleanliness amid pet hair and moderate noise.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while participating in our Belonging and Recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina: standing, lifting 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climbing, handling animals in wet/noisy environments. Depth perception and reasonable accommodations available.
