Role Overview
Our full-time Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) engages pet parents and pets, upholds company values, maintains store standards, and provides direct pet care. This entry-level role offers dynamic retail work with pet interaction in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online; greet customers and prepare pick-up orders.
- Manage pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Ensure store cleanliness, execute price changes, stock and recover merchandise per sales floor plans.
- Sell products, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Maintain safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick/injured pets and assist across store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair environment. Reasonable accommodations available.
