Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Pet Associate (Retail Sales Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Responsibilities include customer engagement, store maintenance, pet safety, and direct pet care in a dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions.
- Care for store-owned pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish), and administer vet-directed medications.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes, and prepare online orders.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; respond to sick/injured pets immediately.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Required: strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: stand/walk extensively, lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings. Depth perception and ladder use essential.
