Role Overview
PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences while upholding our vision, mission, values, and strategy. Responsibilities include customer engagement, store maintenance, pet care, and safety in a dynamic retail environment handling live animals.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online; greet, answer questions, prepare pick-up orders.
- Provide direct pet care: feed, water, clean habitats for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish; administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, stock shelves, face products, handle price changes and merchandising.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets; promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, parents; respond to sick pets and assist store-wide.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Required: strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Physical demands: lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+), stand/walk, handle animals in moderate noise/wet environments with pet hair.
