Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Angelo, Texas, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional experiences, and uphold pet safety. Share store maintenance duties while directly caring for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and more. Flexibility for evenings, weekends, and holidays is key in this dynamic retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide hands-on pet care: feeding, cleaning habitats, medicating as vet-directed, and emergency transport.
- Maintain pristine store standards, stock shelves, face products, and handle pricing updates.
- Sell merchandise, services, live pets, and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers while assisting across all store areas.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is a plus! Need strong communication, composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise, pet hair, and live animals essential.
