Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Jose, California, you'll engage pet parents, care for store pets, and maintain a welcoming store environment. This entry-level role offers hands-on pet interaction and customer service in a dynamic retail setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver outstanding pet parent experiences in-person, phone, register, and online order pickups.
- Provide daily care for birds, reptiles, small animals, fish, and habitats including feeding, cleaning, and vet-directed medications.
- Stock shelves, face products, execute price changes, and promote merchandise, services, and events like adoptions.
- Ensure store cleanliness, safety for associates/pets/customers, and immediate response to sick/injured pets.
- Support various store areas as needed while following all policies.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Must have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50lbs+, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments with moderate noise and occasional wet conditions.
