Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in San Leandro CA you'll engage pet parents deliver positive experiences and care for store pets. Uphold our vision while maintaining cleanliness safety and sales standards. Flexibility for evenings weekends holidays required in this dynamic pet retail environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person phone register and online order pickups
- Provide hands-on care for birds reptiles fish small animals including feeding cleaning and vet-directed meds
- Stock shelves face products execute price changes and recover sales floor
- Sell merchandise services live pets and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment
- Ensure safety for associates pets and customers responding swiftly to health issues
Physical Demands
Stand walk lift 50lbs+ (team lift 100lbs+) climb kneel in wet noisy pet-filled settings. Depth perception essential; accommodations available.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level welcome. Need strong communication composure under pressure pet enthusiasm and physical stamina. Prior retail pet care a plus but passion trumps experience.
