Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Secaucus, New Jersey, you'll engage pet parents and their pets, deliver exceptional service, maintain store standards, and provide direct pet care. Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction through in-person, phone, register, and online interactions; greet customers and prepare online orders.
- Handle pet healthcare for store-owned animals: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, fish), administer vet-directed meds, and respond to sick/injured pets.
- Keep store spotless, support merchandising (facing, filling, recovery, price changes), and promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while ensuring safety for associates, pets, and customers.
- Assist across store areas, follow policies, and contribute to our recognition culture.
Experience & Skills
No prior experience required—pet passion is key! We seek strong communicators who stay composed under pressure, offer scheduling flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), and meet physical demands: lifting 50+ lbs, standing/walking, ladder use, animal handling in moderate-noise, pet-hair-filled settings. Depth perception and team lifting for heavier items needed.
