Role Overview
As a full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) in Shakopee, Minnesota, you'll engage pet parents and pets, deliver positive experiences, and uphold our vision. Share responsibility for store cleanliness, pet safety, and direct pet care. Enjoy flexibility across store areas, including services, while following company policies.
Essential Physical Demands
Stand, walk, climb ladders, lift up to 50 lbs (team lift 100+ lbs), handle animals in a dynamic environment with moderate noise, pet hair, and occasional wet conditions. Depth perception required; accommodations available.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive pet parent satisfaction in-person, phone, register, and online; prepare pickup orders.
- Care for store pets: feed, water, clean habitats (birds, reptiles, small animals, fish); administer vet-directed meds.
- Maintain cleanliness, face/fill products, stage merchandise, support pricing/promos.
- Sell merchandise/services/live pets, promote events like adoptions and Treats enrollment.
- Ensure safety; respond to sick/injured pets, transport to vet if needed.
Experience & Skills
Entry-level role welcoming pet lovers. Need strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure. Pet care enthusiasm a plus—no prior experience required, but passion for pets essential.
