Role Overview

PetSmart's full-time Retail Sales Associate (Pet Associate) delivers exceptional pet parent experiences, maintains store standards, and provides direct care for in-store pets. This entry-level role in Shawnee offers flexibility, weekly pay, and the chance to work with birds, reptiles, fish, and small animals while supporting sales and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive pet parent satisfaction through greetings, question-answering, online order prep, and seamless checkouts.
• Handle pet healthcare: feed, water, clean habitats, administer vet-directed meds, and respond to sick pets.
• Execute merchandising tasks like product staging, facing, filling, recovery, price changes, and promotional setups.
• Sell merchandise, services, and live pets while promoting events like adoption weekends and Treats enrollment.
• Ensure safety for associates, pets, and customers; maintain cleanliness and assist across store areas as needed.

Experience & Skills

No prior experience required—pet passion is key! Successful candidates have strong communication, schedule flexibility (evenings/weekends/holidays), composure under pressure, and physical stamina to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in pet-filled environments. Vision for depth perception and tolerance for moderate noise/pet hair essential.
